Reminiscing about my childhood, growing up with seven siblings, there were a lot of hard times. I earned my allowance by picking pecans, yet I was proud of my hard work. I had to help care for the young ones like a mother. My childhood is the essence of who I am today. I am grateful.
Sometimes we may stand alone to defend the truth. I found myself in that situation many times. One of my favorite plays An Enemy of the People by Henrik Ibsen highlighted the corruption, failing of democracy & pollution.
Dr. Stockmann revealed the truth about their polluted water; yet realizes the real pollution is the uninformed masses. I am almost close to publishing my novel Buckwheat's Journey. It has been a long hard road, yet rewarding. This has been a great learning experience. My goal is to publish close to Black History Month in celebration of our achievements and being proud of who we are.
One Wednesday, Oct 8, 2014, the total lunar eclipse will occur. It is incredible that my novel Buckwheat's Journey... opening paragraph begins with the eclipse. Stay tune for its release soon. "Ride the energy of your own unique spirit." __ Gabrielle Roth
