Reminiscing about my childhood, growing up with seven siblings, there were a lot of hard times. I earned my allowance by picking pecans, yet I was proud of my hard work. I had to help care for the young ones like a mother. My childhood is the essence of who I am today. I am grateful.
Sometimes we may stand alone to defend the truth. I found myself in that situation many times. One of my favorite plays An Enemy of the People by Henrik Ibsen highlighted the corruption, failing of democracy & pollution.
Dr. Stockmann revealed the truth about their polluted water; yet realizes the real pollution is the uninformed masses.
I am almost close to publishing my novel Buckwheat's Journey. It has been a long hard road, yet rewarding. This has been a great learning experience. My goal is to publish close to Black History Month in celebration of our achievements and being proud of who we are.
