Researching Pearl Bailey's life has been an interesting and fascinating journey. I am revising a screenplay that I started working on about five years ago. She did it all in her own way from, singing, dancing, politics, helping and loving others. What a woman! "Show business to her was to show love."
I love escaping into my writing; imagining, discovering, experiencing, exploring, and reliving.
Writing is a love affair with words.
This will be my first Mother's Day without my mother. It is such a strange feeling not having her around and calling or whispering my name "Sandra."
Happy Mother's Day to All Mothers!
"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb." Psalm 139:13
"I remember my mother's prayers and they have always followed me. They have clung to me all my life."
“To describe my mother would be to write about a hurricane in its perfect power. Or the climbing, falling colors of a rainbow.” —Maya Angelou
“Because I feel that, in the Heavens above / The angels, whispering to one another, / Can find, among their burning terms of love / None so devotional as that of ‘Mother’” —Edgar Allen Poe
