Buckwheat's Journey is finally over. Now you can read about it. It is available on Amazon. Check out the link on this website. It also will be on Kindle soon.
I hope you will enjoy the journey and blog your comments Patience is a writer's most important virtue. While going through the publishing process, I have learned to be patient. I am getting very close to releasing my novel Buckwheat's Journey. Stay tuned.
Patience is bitter, but its fruits are sweet. —Jean Jacques Rousseau As I was researching the black stereotypes of the past and present, I came face to face with my idiosyncrasies, intolerance, and incidents of rejection. After the journey, the most significant components were love, peace and happiness. We all wear a mask that hides our frustrations, pains, as well as our prejudices. The question is can we remove the mask.
I am in the final stages in publishing Buckwheat's Journey... and believe me, it has been a journey: exciting, difficult, and rewarding.
The purpose of this book is to educate the reader about stereotype/picaninny and re-examine black history in a lighthearted way. It challenges us to rise above prejudice and hatred. Moreover, excerpts of the songs and poems in the text reflect on Buckwheat’s journey toward personal freedom, forgiveness, redemption, and guidance and help from God.
